JUNGLI JAIGAD FORT, JUNGLI JAIGAD TREK

Jungli Jaigad is the 2nd part of the Jaigad fort foritification. It has got it's name because of the dense junge that surrounds it and the jungle trek involved in getting to the top. This is definitely a must visit place for nature lovers. Once you get here, the phrase 'being in natures lap' will make sense to you.

Routes & Trek Tips: From Koyna Nagar one has to go to the village Navja which is the base village for this fort. The locals can guide you on the route to the top of this fort.
Please be advised that the trek involves hiking through a dense jungle. It is very serene and you will feel like you are in the lap of mother nature.
However, do keep a lookout for crawlers and other wild animals. Stick with the group and do not wander around.

Difficulty Level and Other useful tips: 
Difficulty level is Moderate. 
Height from sea level is 2957 feet.
Beware of wild animals/creatures [especially scorpions and snakes] We spotted a few during our trek. Check the pics.

What to see: The most fascinating part of the fort is the jungle trek. The forest around this fort is a part of the Koyna Abhiyaranya which is a protected reserve. Apart from that, the views from the top of the fort are breath taking. 

Ideal Time for Jungli Jaigad Trek: Ideal time for trekking to Jungli Jaigad would be during the winter season. The natural beauty of this fort is just breath taking. If you are lucky you could also get to see a lot of wild animals and birds in the surrounding areas of this fort. So do not forget to take your top knotch DSLR cameras for this trip.

Camping Info: 
NOT IDEAL for camping due to the presence of wild animals and other poisonous creatures. And this is located in a protected wild life reserve, so we thing that camping is not really allowed here.
