Route Info: The normal trek starts from the base village. From the base, it takes around 1 1/2 hours to get to the top. The trek path is not very difficult and okay for amateur trekkers.
There's an alternate motorable road to the top where you can skip the efforts of trekking. The ghat road is scenic and nice to drive during a weekday. However, on weekends, there's a lot of rush at Sinhagad that causes traffic jams in the ghat area. We recommend that you avoid going on weekends as this can be quite irritating and can ruin your visit to Sinhagad.

Best time to visit: Without any doubt, the best time to be here is during the rainy season. It gets a bit overcrowded with visitors, but eating bhajis [Pakodas] during the rainfall is a heavenly experience. Apart from the food, nature is at its best when it rains here.

Difficulty Level and Other useful tips: Difficulty level is Very Easy. For a regular trekker it would hardly take 40 mins to reach to the top of the fort. The ideal time to visit Sinhagad would be during the monsoon season or winter season.

Camping and Food Info: We believe that camping is not allowed on this fort. Not sure if this has changed recently.
With respect to food, one should defintely try the ZHUNKA BHAKRI that you get at Sinhagad. It's a local delicacy and there's hardly anyone who does not like it. Apart from this, you will also get other items like Kanda Bhajis (Pakodas) and local snakcs items.

What to see on the fort:

  1. TANAJI MALUSARES SAMADHI: He was the leader in the Maratha Empire and played an important role in the battle of Sinhagad. The statue is a memorial to Tanaji Malusare.
